VP Communications Candidates

Miffia Huang

Hey everyone! For those of you that don’t know, my name is Miffia, your current VP Communications and I am excited to be running again! If during this past year you’ve laughed at the weekly joke on the newsletter, checked out the monthly calendar on the PhUS instagram, been reminded about a pharmacy event because you saw a story, post or reel or even attended AGM last week, then I did my job! I love being able to help connect the student body to the PhUS council and faculty and promote pharmacy events so no opportunity is missed! I’m always happy to chat, reliable and quick to respond! Vote Miffia Huang again for your VP Communications 🙂

Jasmine Khattra

Hi everyone, I’m Jasmine, a first-year PharmD student, and I’m excited to run for Vice President of Communications for PHUS.

From the moment we were accepted into UBC Pharmacy, I recognized how important clear and organized communication is to our success. Last summer, I created the Year 1 Instagram group chat because I felt we needed a platform that was more engaging and accessible than Facebook or Discord. Today, nearly our entire class is in that chat. What started as a simple idea quickly became a space for reminders, shared resources, quick clarifications, and celebrating each other’s achievements. That experience showed me that strong communication doesn’t just share information, it builds community.

As VP Communications, I want to go beyond maintaining what we have and introduce stronger strategies to truly streamline communication. My goal is to reduce information overload by centralizing key updates, creating consistent posting schedules, and ensuring announcements are clear, concise, and easy to access. I want to improve coordination between PHUS, clubs, and class representatives so messages are aligned and students aren’t receiving fragmented or repetitive information. Most importantly, I want communication to feel intentional, organized, and reliable.

Pharmacy school is demanding, and the last thing we need is confusion about deadlines, events, or opportunities. I am organized, proactive, and genuinely invested in making our student experience smoother and more connected.

I would be honoured to have your vote for VP Communications! Let’s build a communication system that truly works for all of us.
