VP External Candidates

Amy Lee

Hi everyone! This is Amy, and I am a current PY1 student running for the PhUS VP External position!

I am really excited to run for VP External as I am passionate about the pharmacy profession, and my goal as a VP External is to advocate for our faculty by connecting and building relationships between AMS and PhUS. Currently, I am working as a PY1 representative, and I’ve loved listening and advocating for PY1 students to the faculty and PhUS, which has motivated me to go further, and now I am hoping to advocate for our faculty to a larger population. Through helping with Pharmacy Appreciation Month (PAM), I found this project very meaningful, as PAM allows pharmacy students to reach out to the community, I am excited to lead PAM initiatives to promote our profession and the scope of practice for individuals who are outside of pharmacy.

Thank you for reading, and please vote Amy Lee for PhUS VP External!

Xya Parashar

My name is Xya Parashar and I am excited to be running for PhUS VP External 2026-2027. My experiences have been centered around leadership, advocacy, and building supportive communities, which I am eager to contribute to the PhUS team.

This past year, I have been deeply involved in the pharmacy community through PhUS Sponsorship, LKS, the Pharmacy Women’s Health Club, and the PhUS Social Committee. Balancing these commitments alongside the demands of pharmacy school has strengthened my ability to manage my time effectively while remaining dependable across all teams. These experiences have prepared me to contribute with consistency and accountability, which I believe makes me a strong candidate for this role.

As a Finance Coordinator with Providence Health Care Research, I handled over 20 finance accounts optimizing efficiency and streamlining financial processes to improve reporting accuracy and reduce administrative delays. Additionally, my involvement with the UBC Student Alumni Council taught me how to work with a team to advocate for student interests. By collaborating with campus partners, including AMS, I helped develop initiatives that amplify student voices and strengthen student engagement. This is what I am hoping to bring to next year’s council and to represent the pharmacy profession as well as PhUS! Thank you for your consideration and I hope to earn your support!
