Hey PY1s! I’m Farzan, and I’m running to be your Year Representative.
Let’s be honest: the PharmD curriculum is incredibly rigorous. Between the endless lectures and labs, it is easy to feel weighed down by the heavy demands of this program. We are working hard to become healthcare professionals, but surviving this degree shouldn’t mean sacrificing our own well-being and burning out.
I am running because I believe we need a massive shift in our student culture. Right now, there is a lack of engaging, healthy, and fun activities in our faculty, and I want to change that. While I will fiercely advocate for our student rights and academic equity, my ultimate mission is to bring energy, balance, and life to our cohort.
Having played competitive volleyball, maintained a dedicated lifting routine, and currently serving as a coordinator on the Sports Committee, I know that athletics and recreation are the ultimate ways to blow off steam. Sports break down barriers, protect our mental health, and help us forge genuine friendships outside the lecture hall. I want to champion these initiatives, build up our teams, and create a vibrant culture we actually enjoy being a part of.
I would do my best to speak up, push for what we need, and get things done. Let’s build an active, connected, and unforgettable PY1 experience together. I would be honored to earn your vote!
