The PhUS president’s story about being introverted during undergrad and becoming more outgoing in pharmacy school really resonated with me. Hearing how he grew through his involvement inspired me to step outside my own comfort zone and apply for this position.
One of my goals in pharmacy school is to socialize more and make friends with as many classmates as I can. Becoming a year representative would give me the opportunity to put myself out there, participate in more social events, and just be more involved in the community that I am going to be a part of for the next four years.
In this role, I would make an effort to get to know my classmates, listen to their ideas and concerns, and communicate their feedback to PhUS. I would also like to help others feel included, especially those who may be hesitant to reach out or participate. I understand that taking the first step can be difficult, and I hope to become someone my classmates feel comfortable approaching.
