Hi everyone! My name is Mika Pascual, and I’m excited to be running for your PY1 Representative for PhUS! I believe my experience in leadership, event planning, and advocacy will help me better support and represent our year.
Starting a new program like PharmD can be both exciting and overwhelming. My goal is to create opportunities for our class to connect and build lifelong friendships. I want to create spaces where we can take a break, get to know our classmates, and support one another. Whether it’s a small game night to relax or a group study session before exams, I want everyone to feel like they belong in our class.
I completed my BSc in Biology here at UBC, where I was actively involved in several clubs and organizations. I had the privilege of serving as Co-President of the UBC Filipino Students’ Association, after previously holding roles as Sponsorship Director and VP Externals. I oversaw 9 departments and worked alongside an executive team of 40+ students to organize social events, fundraisers, and academic workshops. These experiences strengthened my advocacy, collaboration, and event planning skills.
I was also elected class secretary for three consecutive years in high school, where I kept my classmates informed about events, deadlines, and announcements. I hope to bring that same organization and communication to our PharmD program.
