Hi everyone! My name is Anisha, and I would love to be one of the PY2 representatives for the Class of 2029!
As a Year Representative, I would strive to be an approachable and reliable point of contact for my classmates. I want students to feel comfortable sharing their questions, concerns, and ideas, and I would work to communicate these perspectives effectively to the Student Pipeline and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
I have already been actively involved in the UBC pharmacy community through several leadership and student involvement opportunities. Last year, I was a member of the PhUS Social Committee (SoCo), where I helped organize and run events including the Halloween Boat Cruise, Gala, and Skits Night! I am continuing with SoCo this year and have already helped with the Shoppers Drug Mart Welcome Back BBQ. Through Kappa Psi Delta Mu, I was a general member last year and helped with Trivia Night. This year, I serve as Sergeant-at-Arms and have contributed to Clubs Night and the Pharmacy Pub Crawl. I have also recently joined PITECH as a Marketing Executive.
Prior to pharmacy school, I served as President of the SFU Women in STEM, where I gained experience bringing students together and advocating for minority and marginalized groups to foster an accepting and welcoming environment. I hope to bring this experience into my role as Year Representative by ensuring diverse perspectives within our cohort are heard and represented.
I would be excited to work alongside the other Year Representatives to strengthen our community, advocate for our year, and help make our PharmD experience as inclusive and connected as possible!
