Hii PY1s! If you’ve seen someone around the Pharm building who always seems to have something to say, there’s a good chance that’s me. My name is Kelly, and I’m SO excited to be running for First-Year Rep and getting to know more of you!
A little about me: before starting the PharmD, I spent a few years doing my undergrad here at UBC in Biochemistry. So, I’ve had plenty of time to explore campus, meet new people, and learn a thing or two about surviving UBC. Outside of school, I love trying new food spots, finding fun things to do, and, admittedly, spending way too much time online. Now that we’re starting this chapter together, I’d love to make our first year feel welcoming, connected, and, most importantly, fun.
Now, what makes me qualified for this prestigious position? Well, for starters, I’m quite the chatterbox. I love meeting new people, whether we’re bonding over surviving another EOB or yapping about something completely random. On top of that, I’m chronically online, so I’m always keeping up with events and opportunities around campus. All that scrolling means I’m constantly finding fun activities, cute places, or random ideas and thinking, “Hold on, our year should totally do this!”
At the end of the day, I want our first year to be more than lectures, IAs, and EOBs. So, if you want a rep who listens, stays involved, and is always down to make something happen, I’d love your vote! 🫶
